Ruleset 102
A running world can now take on newly added life events at its season rollover, which brings twelve more small everyday happenings to clubs. Nothing about how a match is played changes.
What changed in Dawgin, who helped, and what we know is broken.
A running world can now take on newly added life events at its season rollover, which brings twelve more small everyday happenings to clubs. Nothing about how a match is played changes.
Replays pause less: a timeout now takes twenty seconds instead of thirty, and a group of substitutions three and a half seconds instead of six each. Nothing about how a match is played changes.
The assistant now rests a worn-out player and eases a tired squad at fatigue levels players actually reach, and the training list flags load at those levels too. Nothing about how a match is played changes.
Training gains rest and the lighter week: a player can be rested for up to three days, and a squad can train light for up to two weeks. Nothing about how a match is played changes.
Trades between clubs now have their rules: how long an offer stays open, how many times it can be countered, when a very one-sided trade is held for review, and how long an AI club remembers its answer to the same offer. Nothing about how a match is played has changed.
Housekeeping only. The game now records that it runs clubs with a scout on staff, which it has done since the previous version. Nothing about how a match is played has changed, and no manager is asked for a coaching licence.
Every club now employs a scout who is a real person, with a face, a wage and a contract, and a few more are out of work. This records how they are drawn and what they are paid. Nothing about how a match is played has changed.
Housekeeping only. The pictures of people who are not players are now listed in a file of their own, so they can be checked and shipped separately from the players' ones. Nothing about how a match is played has changed.
Housekeeping only. People in the game who are not players, your agent, a rival's manager, can now be given a face, and this records the setting that decides which picture stands in for somebody whose age the game does not store. Nothing about how a match is played has changed.
You can now arrange a friendly. Pick a club, and if it will play you the match is added to the first free day and is played like any other fixture. A club close to yours in standing plays for nothing; a bigger one wants an appearance fee to travel, and you keep the gate because you are hosting. Nothing about how a match is played has changed.
Housekeeping only. Your club's finance page now says what the club is worth and what it is worth to you, with the full breakdown behind both. The squad, the arena, the facilities, the name and support, and the surplus it is on course to make. Nothing about how a match is played, how players develop or how the market prices anybody has changed.
Housekeeping only. The league feed can now say when a club is on a winning or losing run. Nothing about how the game is played has changed.
You can now tell one player to shoot more, or to pass first, and set how long you want him on the floor. Nothing changes for a player you say nothing about, and no match already played is affected.
Housekeeping only. The league feed gained its table, and the rules about what a deleted account leaves behind were extended to cover it. Nothing about how the game is played has changed.
Housekeeping only. Coaches, scouts and agents now have somewhere for their portraits to live, and the game knows which of four ages to draw a member of staff at. No faces have been drawn yet, and nothing about how the game is played has changed.
Housekeeping only. Trades gained their tables, and the rules about what a deleted account leaves behind were extended to cover them. Nothing about how the game is played has changed.
Every position on the floor is a real one again. Players used to drift toward centre and point guard whatever they were brought up as, so forwards all but disappeared from the game; now a player keeps the position he was raised in unless he is clearly better somewhere next to it, and he can move across a career rather than overnight. Nobody's ratings changed \u2014 what changed is what the game calls them.
Contract talks now start when a deal is genuinely running out, instead of almost as soon as it is signed. A renewal opens in the second half of the season the contract ends in, so "running down" means something and the last months of a deal are a decision rather than a formality. Nothing about your existing contracts changed: only when you and everyone else may talk about them.
Your players now decide whether they want to stay. Until now anyone would re-sign the moment the money was right; from this version a loyal man may agree to less than he asked for, and an ambitious one who is unhappy with his minutes may turn down exactly what he asked for and run his contract down instead. Offering more than he asked genuinely helps, and asking again with the same terms will get you the same answer.
Matches now look like the basketball they are meant to be. Games run at the pace a 40-minute European game actually runs, so scores come down from the high hundreds to where a real league sits, and free throws and shooting stop being unrealistically kind. Your coaches use their timeouts, and your best players get the minutes their ability earns. Every player keeps every rating he had; what changed is the league around them.
